The best time to visit Rishikesh for white water rafting is September-June and November. Another good time to visit Rishikesh is from February to early May. The International Yoga Festival is organised in Rishikesh in the first week of March. It is not favourable to visit Rishikesh in summer (May-June) as the temperature during these months gets extremely high, making it unbearable for sightseeing.

Rishikesh in Summer (March-May)

Rishikesh in Winter (October - February)

With temperatures between 20° C and 6° C, winters are the best time in Rishikesh to enjoy the natural beauty and engage in adventure activities especially rock climbing. The weather is pleasant throughout with January being the coldest month. However, it is not as severe as you expect a hilly town to be. You'll need to put on layers of clothing if you wish to trek over the snow-clad peaks. The best thing about winter is the sky and mist over the mountain range which is a sight to behold.
