Marketed as a major tourist attraction and a marker of Thai culture, the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is among the most popular floating markets in the world. Established around 1905, the Maeklong railway market is a one-of-a-kind market in Bangkok, mainly selling meat, seafood, sweets, fruits, vegetables, and drinks. A few times a day, there is a train that runs directly through the market, initially blowing a horn and warning the vendors who very casually lower their umbrellas, move their products back, and let the train pass before resuming business.
