Travelling via air transport is the most feasible option since there are regular flights available from major countries to Muscat, Salalah and Khasab. While there are no ferrying services between Oman and nearby countries, Oman is also not easily accessible via roads. However, some buses connect UAE to the country.
Oman has three major airports in Muscat, Salalah and Al Khasab. The Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport are the best airports as there are numerous direct and non-stop flights which operate between these airports and major countries. Oman Airline is the national airline of Oman. Major airlines of Oman are Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
Regular buses run by Oman National Transport Company (ONTC) operate between Muscat and Dubai, thus connecting Oman and UAE. Dubai is also connected to other major places of Oman like Nizwa and Salalah through direct buses. Most cities of Saudi Arabia like Riyadh and Jeddah and Yemen like Sanaa and Aden are not accessible via buses. However, you can easily choose air transport.
Since there are no railway lines running through Oman, you cannot reach the country via a train.
Land crossing between UAE and Oman is available. Entering the Oman border is hassle-free if you have the visa with you. However, Oman closed its borders for Yemen in 2016 due to political reasons.
There are no ports in the neighbouring countries which provides passenger services to Oman.
