Nepal boasts of one of the best views of Mount Everest you can ever lay your eyes on. Being the world’s highest peak, the mountain stretches to a massive 8,848 meters, placed in the Khumbu Glacier region. The third highest peak in the world, the majestic Kanchenjunga, also spelt Kangchenjunga, is one of the most stunning mountains. Surrounded by Nepal, Sikkim and Tibet, Mt Kanchenjunga was first scaled in 1955 but since then has been declared sacred. Kanchenjunga is a Tibetan name that means 'The Five Treasures of the High Snow'. The treasures represent the five repositories of God, namely gold, silver, gems, grain and holy books. There are a lot of trekking routes in and around Kanchenjunga which will take you through woody forests and serene countryside.

The word Manaslu comes from the Sanskrit word manas, which means a person's soul, and Mount Manaslu can be reflected as exactly that - the soul of the mountain. Despite all the chaos around the mountain from the trekking expeditions conducted here every season, Manaslu has surprisingly held on to its pristine and untarnished beauty. Rising from a rugged terrain of ridges and frozen valleys, the double peaks of Manaslu opens up into the brilliant blue sky like a proud guardian looking over the Gorkha district.

Standing at a height of 8516m, Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world and among the mountains in Nepal. 'Lhotse' means south peak as it is located just south of Mount Everest, but is an equally challenging trek and equally rewarding. This mountain is starting to become quite popular amongst trekkers and guides as it is not quite as crowded as the Everest expedition.

Mount Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world and is also home to the Makalu Barun National Park. Snow leopards, Red Pandas, Musk Deer and over 56 species of endangered plant species can be found here. With its lush vegetation and snow-capped peaks, Mount Makalu is a must-visit for all nature lovers and trekkers.

Boasting a height of 8201m, Mount Cho Oyu promises to be an exhilarating trek and offers amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Its craggy peaks and thick sheets of snow that cover the mountain make for an enchanting experience. The name 'Cho Oyu' translates to "Goddess Turquoise".

Rising 8,167 metres over the snow-laden Himalayan landscape along the west of Kali River, Dhaulagiri in Nepal is the world's seventh-largest mountain. Draped in rhododendron forests, Dhaulagiri is dotted with terraced farmlands, glaciers, hot springs and sacred villages of the Thakali people. Popular treks and attractions like Mustang, Muktinath, Dhaulagiri Falls and Gandaki Valley are located on this peak.

One of the most tranquil and isolated mountains that are not as popular as Everest and the other surroundings ranges is the Annapurna range. Annapurna I is considered to be one of the deadliest mountains in the world. Its craggy peaks and rugged terrain make it very difficult to climb even for the most experienced trekkers. However, all things are irrelevant when you witness the mesmeric sunrise from the summit.

Gyachung Kang is a mountain peak in the Mahalangur Himal, a sub-range of the Himalayas, and is the highest peak between Cho Oyu and Mount Everest. Nestled on the border between Nepal and Tibet, its twin snow-and-rock peaks tower above the immediate surroundings, separated by a narrow saddle.

Standing tall at a height of 7,937 metres, Annapurna II is one of the tallest mountains in Nepal. Only 15 people have scaled this mountain due to the rough terrain and massive avalanches. Treading through the unforgiving snow and huffing the oxygen devoid air to reach the summit is an inexpressible feeling.
